Caine to chase home win at Snetterton

Newmarket racing driver Michael Caine will continue his bid for a race win in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB as the series heads to his home track of Snetterton in Norfolk this weekend (28/29 July).

Caine is racing for Sussex-based Paragon Porsche this season and currently lies fourth in the overall championship standings in his 400bhp Porsche 911GT3 Cup car, which is prepared by Team Parker Racing.

Despite the disappointment of losing victory with less than two laps to go at Oulton Park recently, his pace showed that a first win is within reach. There is nowhere better for it to happen than at Snetterton, and there will be no shortage of support, from sponsors, family and friends.  "I love the race circuit at Snetterton and it's looking a lot better now. This is a very important round for us. Last year we had two seconds and hopefully we'll be quick this year. We'll give it a right good go for the rest of the season, as we always have."

After qualifying on Saturday morning, the opening Carrera Cup race will run at 4.20pm, followed by the second race at 11.25am on Sunday.

All of Sunday's action will be broadcast live on the Setanta satellite TV channel and Carrera Cup highlights will be shown on ITV1 in the near future (times to be confirmed).
