Sumpter takes two podiums at the Nurburgring - Nurburgring - Group C-GTP

In the brilliant sunshine Mark Sumpter qualified his Porsche 962 on the front row of the grid in second place “this is the best we can expect at the moment” said Sumpter “we have massive understeer problems but the car's very fast down the straights!”

In race one Justin Law made a fantastic start and got the drop on Sumpter on the run down to the first corner and then drove around the outside of Mercer’s Spice who had run wide and lost front grip. After thirty minutes of racing Mercer was just two seconds behind Law but despite gaining fastest lap he could not pass.

So race one was Justin Laws with David Mercer and Mark Sumpter completing the podium.

Race two was even hotter with thirty degrees air temperature, Sumpter took advantage of Mercers slow start to burst into lead. But Mercer soon took advantage of Sumpters understeer when he past him on the third lap, this time Sumpter managed to keep his second position until the end of the race, Justin Law was third until Chris Randall past him on the last lap. So another victory for David Mercer with Sumpter finishing second and Chris Randall Third in his Nissan NTP1 GTP.
