2005 Race Reports

Porsche Racing

Highly competitive racing and a new comer to the Paragon's driver line up.

2005 was set to be a season of some very exciting Porsche racing for the Paragon race team.

Cambridge Business Travel's managing director Stuart Scott and co-driver Stephen Wood competed in the GT3 class of the British GT Championship with their Paragon supported Porsche GT3 Cup car. There were plenty of ups and downs for the pair of drivers throughout the series. Their highlights being a class win at Castle Combe and two podiums at the Porsche festival at Brands Hatch.

Experienced racing drivers Mike Jordan and Michael Caine raced the Paragon supported Team Eurotech Porsche GT3RS in the GT2 Class of the British GT Championship. Racing against other prestigious marques the duo had a series of podium positions with a well earned second place at Mondello Park in Ireland.

Mark Sumpter joined long term Porsche racer Pete Chambers to race a Porsche 911 GT3 up against cars with much greater horsepower. The three hour Snetterton Brit car race class victory was no easy task with two rear wheel punctures and two safety car periods. Yet again another superb result for the Paragon racing team.

Paragon's newest edition to their racing driver line up was to have his first season in the Michelin Porsche Club championship. Racing the Paragon prepared Porsche 911 20 year old Andy Purdie had some really exciting wheel to wheel battles with championship contender Ian White and Kevin Harrison. Purdie finished the season with numerous podium finishes and two wins at Donnington Park.
