Caine and Paragon back on track at Croft
After a four-week gap in the schedule, Croft is the next stop for Michael Caine as the 2007 Porsche Carrera Cup GB heads to the North Yorkshire track over the weekend of 2/3 June for the seventh and eighth rounds of the championship.
Caine is racing for Sussex-based Paragon Porsche this season and has scored podium finishes in three of the opening races of the season. He now lies a close fourth in the overall points and is keen to maintain his title bid at one of his favourite tracks on the schedule.
Caine, from Newmarket, is competing for Team Parker Racing and knows that his first Carrera Cup victory is in within reach. "Croft is a fantastic circuit and it's a good track to race on," says Caine. "It's got all the elements you need for a race circuit and it is always a pleasure to go to Croft.
The crowds are great and there is such enthusiasm for the sport in the north east." After qualifying early on Saturday afternoon, the opening Carrera Cup race will run at 5pm, followed by the second race at 3.15pm on Sunday.
All of Sunday's action will be broadcast live on the Setanta satellite TV channel and Carrera Cup highlights will be shown on ITV1 in the near future (times to be confirmed).
