For more than 50 years, the name Porsche has been synonymous with motorsport. Racing is interwoven with the culture at Porsche, giving every single Porsche that rolls off the production line unmatched charisma. Their racing record is unrivalled by any other manufacturer and this is crowned by a remarkable 16 overall victories in arguably the greatest race of them all, the Le Mans 24 hours.

At Paragon we built our first 911 race car in 1994, a 1978 SC, which was raced in the Porsche Classic championship by our managing director Mark Sumpter and is currently being raced by Nicki Purdie in the Porsche Club championship. From 1994 until 1999 we raced in both Porsche Club championships, the Classic and the Cup with great success including being the first team in the world to win a race with the 996 model Carrera (Brands hatch 1998).

In 2000 Paragon won the British GT championship with a factory built GT3-R with Mark Sumpter and Mike Jordan as the drivers, that year we won seven out of twelve races and adding to our success John Williams clinched the Classic Porsche title in Paragon's 911 SC.

More success in 2001 when Paragon entered a new GT3-RS in the British GT Championship with Mark Sumpter and Shaun Balfe as the drivers, in which we won the first race and ended the season third in the championship being beaten only by the two factory entered Porsche's with their 'exclusive' Michelin tyre supply.

2002 started well for us winning the first two races in the Porsche cup with Mark Sumpter in a new GT3-Cup car but with a few problems in the middle of the season we ended this season third in the championship points. That year Mark Sumpter also teamed up with Mike Jordan, Greame Langford and David Warnock for the Daytona 24 hours in a GT3-R in which they raced at the head of the field until a drive shaft broke losing them any chance of winning, although eventually finishing the race 18th was some compensation.

For 2003 we entered the FIA GT championship which took us to the highest level of international sports car racing with Mark Sumpter and Mike Jordan driving in our GT3-RS. The ten race season took us the length and breath of Europe, racing against the some of very best racing teams in the world.

In 2004 Paragon came back to the British GT championship with Mark Sumpter and Mike Jordan driving a revised GT3-RS and winning races at Donnington and Castle Combe.

In the same GT3-RS we went on to compete in the 2005 British GT with Mike Jordan and Michael Caine driving, whilst Mark Sumpter partnered Pete Chambers in the Paragon GT3 Cup car winning races in Britcar. Mark also partnered Steve Wood in a British GT3 class podium finish at Castle Combe.

Andy Purdie joined our team in 2005 racing the Paragon 911 3.2 Carrera in the Porsche Club championship winning seven races in his first seasons racing!

New ventures for Paragon in 2006, Andy Purdie drove our new 997 GT3 Carrera Cup car and finished third in the Pro-am class even though he had to miss four races due to university exams. Andy's sister Nicki also had her race debut in our 911 3.2 Carrera in the Porsche Club championship and despite only racing twice she was very competitive.

After 18 months of restoration we entered our 800 BHP Le-Mans Porsche 962 in the Group C GTP series in which Mark Sumpter visited the podium five times in the six races he entered. We also won two Britcar races at Brands Hatch with Mark Sumpter and Adrian Slater driving our GT3-RS and we won the Porsche club one hour race at Brands in our 997 Carrera Cup car with Mark Sumpter and Andy Purdie.

For 2007 we will be back in the Carrera Cup with a new 997 in the hands of Michael Caine and have two Porsche 962's entered in the Group C GTP series for Mark Sumpter and Andrew Purdie. Nicki Purdie will also compete in selected Porsche club championship races in our 911 3.2 Carrera and we also plan to enter the Silverstone 24 hours with a GT3.
